Tadanki Seshamamba (1908-1968) was a first generation Telugu film actress. She is known for her roles as Gayyali Atta.

Born into a traditional Brahmin family in Tenali , Seshamamba got married at the age of eleven. Her elderly husband, Tadanki Venkayya, died after the birth of their daughter, causing financial difficulties. Noting the dire situation, prominent lawyer Nandur Seshacharya and prominent doctor Govindarajulu Subbarao encouraged her, trained her in acting, and introduced her to the stage.


Seshamamba, who impressed and entertained the audience with her performance as Madhuravani in her first play Kanyasulkam , settled down in the theatre and got rid of the difficulties of managing her family. The role of Karna in the play Pandavodyagavijayal and the role of Kamal Rani in the fall of the Khilji Rajya Pathanam made Seshamamba famous.

In 1939, director and producer B.N. Reddy, who was producing the film Vande Mataram under the banner of Vahini , could not find a suitable actress to play the role of Gayyali's aunt in it. In his search, he heard about Seshamamba through his friends and sent Samudrala and A.K. Shekhar to Tenali to test her . They talked to Seshamamba, reached an agreement and returned to Madras . Thus, Seshamamba was introduced to the film industry. Seshamamba, who had experienced the abuses and hardships of aunts and children for a long time in real life, drew on her experience and played the role of Gayyali's aunt wonderfully in her own style. 

Sheshamamba died in Tenali on 14-11-1958.
